Junior Tour 2025 – Round 1 Recap: A Strong Start at Bowood Park

The 2025 CGU Junior Tour teed off in style on Easter Bank Holiday Monday (21st April) with its opening round hosted at the ever-popular Bowood Park Golf Club. After receiving fantastic feedback last year, it was no surprise to see Bowood back at the top of the schedule — and it didn’t disappoint.

The course was in excellent condition for the time of year, offering a firm but fair test for the 50+ junior golfers who took part. A huge thank you goes to Max Stockwell and the team at Bowood for their warm hospitality and superb course preparation. Families, friends, and club supporters turned out in force, making it a brilliant start to the tour.

New Format, Same Passion

The 2025 tour format has been refreshed to better cater to junior golfers of all levels. Players in the 0–28 handicap group now compete over 18 holes, adding a new layer of challenge — and the chance to win scratch prizes, which now come with their own dedicated Order of Merit running across all six events.

Meanwhile, the 29–54 handicap group and Golf Access players continue to play 9-hole formats, ensuring all juniors can enjoy competitive golf suited to their stage of development.

Despite breezy conditions, there were some impressive performances across the board, especially from the 0–28 group playing from the white tees (boys) and red tees (girls).
