Golf’s taken me to some incredible places — but few compare to Cornwall. As someone who lives and plays here, I might be biased, but after years of competing in team events, corporate days, and rounds with the Cornish Nomads, I can honestly say: this place is something special.

Whether it’s the raw beauty of the coastline, the variety of courses, or the warmth of the golf community, Cornwall delivers everything you’d want from a golf trip — and a little more.
A County Built for Golf
Cornwall isn’t just about beaches and pasties (though they’re both excellent). It’s also home to some of the most memorable golf courses in the UK. From championship tests to hidden gems, the county offers an incredible mix of coastal drama and inland charm — and the golf scene here is alive with personality.
I’m a member at Cape Cornwall Golf Club, perched on one of the most spectacular stretches of coastline you’ll find anywhere. There’s nothing quite like standing on a tee box with the Atlantic rolling in beside you — it’s wild, challenging, and completely unforgettable.

Through playing with the Cornish Nomads and other events, I’ve had the privilege of teeing it up at courses like St. Enodoc, Perranporth, Mullion, and The Point. Each offers something unique — from the slick greens and links terrain at Perranporth to the postcard views at Mullion. And that’s the beauty of Cornwall golf: every round feels like a new adventure.
Year-Round Golf (Yes, Really)
One thing people often don’t realise: Cornwall has a milder climate than much of the UK. That means more golf, more often. While other regions are washed out in winter, I’ve had some of my best rounds in February sunshine — the breeze keeping things honest and the fairways still rolling true.
For anyone planning a trip, that year-round playability is a massive bonus. You don’t need to wait for summer to enjoy the best of Cornish golf.

More Than Just a Round
What makes Cornwall so memorable isn’t just the courses — it’s the full experience. The local community, the post-round pints in welcoming clubhouses, the seafood lunches in little harbourside pubs… it all adds up to something that stays with you.
There’s a sense of pride here. Clubs are friendly, welcoming, and full of character. Whether you’re a visiting fourball or joining a mixed open, you’re always made to feel part of it.
A Hidden Gem Worth Exploring
So if you’re thinking about where to go for your next golf break — and you’ve ticked off the usual suspects — take a proper look at Cornwall.
Stay a few nights, play a handful of courses, take in the views, and let the place work its magic. Trust me — once you’ve played golf with the ocean on one side and cliffs on the other, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
Cornwall isn’t just a place to visit. It’s a place to come back to.
And for golfers, it just might be one of Britain’s best-kept secrets.
